Samuel J. Shaw operated from St. John Street, Upper Town, & Sous-le-Fort street, Lower Town, Quebec in the mid 19th century. They imported more than just ales, according to an advertisement from 1852-53, they also imported cutlery, house furnishings, building hardware, paints, oils, window glass, varnishes, mechanical tools, fishing tackle, rods, lines, twines, guns, pistol, powder, shots, and more.
The mugs is in good condition with a tiny pre-firing chip/scrape at the bottom base.
